Clinic offers hair restoration treatment

June 2006

The Cellite Clinic has become the first in Wales to join the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery's pro bono Operation Restore programme.

Surgeons at the Cellite Clinic will treat patients who have suffered hair loss as a result of illness or accident, but who would otherwise be unable to afford the expensive and complex treatment to restore their hair.

Professor Harryono Judodihardjo, the clinic's medical director, said, "Hair loss can have a profoundly negative impact on an individual's self-esteem.

"The shock of losing one's hair suddenly due to injury, tumour removal or disease, can be particularly traumatic for the individual concerned.

"

However, for many there is no option but to live with the problem, as hair restoration procedures are expensive.
