Hair loss clinic to be featured on TV show

Producers of a television show that will transform the looks of men and women across the country have found the top hair restoration companies in the industry to help -- including a location in Parma, Cleveland.

"Hair Loss Confidential" will surprise people facing hair loss and offer a transformation. The idea is to offer help to those who insist the comb-over is working for them, individuals who think a wig is the answer to their problem or people who believe a baseball cap can be worn with a tux or ball gown.

The subjects are to be caught off-guard and unaware they were nominated for a makeover. After walking into a room with cameras where they'll be confronted by family, friends, co-workers and the "Hair Loss Confidential" crew, the unsuspecting subject will be whisked away to the chosen hair restoration studio in their town where they will undergo a miraculous transformation.

The Van Scoy Hair Clinic on Broadview Road will be listed on the www.hairlossconfidential.tv Web site and is being considered as a potential "highlighted" studio in one of this season's "Hair Loss Confidential" episodes. Van Scoy owner Dennis Van Scoy was thrilled to be named a transformation center for "Hair Loss Confidential."

"Van Scoy Hair Clinic has been in business for 39 years. We are so proud to be part of a television show that honors and respects the good work we do for our clients every day."

Van Scoy encourages Cleveland residents to get their nominations in to "Hair Loss Confidential."

"The more nominations received from our area, the better the chance that someone from our community will be chosen to have their life changed on 'Hair Loss Confidential,'" he said.

Producers say they not only will transform the looks of participants, but also the way people look at the hair restoration industry. Executive Producer Lisa Zimmerman said the clinics featured in the show were chosen on criteria that includes experience and reputation.

Additionally, "Hair Loss Confidential" producers are looking for individuals suffering from hair loss due to heredity, alopecia or chemotherapy where their hair loss crisis has affected their lifestyle and livelihood.
