According to the American Academy of Dermatologists, men have a 50 percent chance of experiencing pattern hair loss by their 50th birthday.

This hereditary condition causes a receding hairline as well as a loss of hair on top of the scalp. The problem can also affect women with thinning over the front and top of the scalp and is often devastating to one’s self esteem, according to a news release.

The American Academy of Dermatologists reports that while there are no cures, there are several treatment options for men and women including medications that stimulate new growth and new techniques for hair transplant surgery. Treatment is more effective when hair loss is diagnosed and treated early for the best possible results.

Excess facial or body hair is a troublesome cosmetic problem for men and women that also comes with great emotional stress.

Laser hair removal uses a low-energy laser to gently remove unwanted hair. With the exception of the eye area, most of the body can be treated with lasers for hair removal.

A diverse panel of medical experts will be available to answer questions on a variety of hair problems.
