Player banned in hair case

A German second division player, whose club blamed his
positive doping test on a hair growth tonic, has been banned for six months.
Nemanja Vucicevic of TSV 1860 Munich had tested positive for Finasteride, which
is used as a cure for baldness as well as an array of other hormonal problems.
Club managing director Roland Kneissl blamed the positive result on his hair
tonic but the substance is banned by the German Football Association and is
listed by anti-doping authority WADA as a masking agent.
Vucicevic, a forward from Serbia & Montenegro, tested positive after a 2-0 win
over Wacker Burghausen in a league match on November 4.
The ban will run until May 19, 2006, the German FA said.
