Cafe Cartago Owner's Personal Fight Prompts Introduction of Specialty Coffee to Support Survivors

Two years ago, Lynda Larsen and her husband Steve embarked on the life-changing experience of owning a small business. The couple bought Cafe Cartago, a Denver-based specialty coffee company.

Two months ago, they embarked on the life-changing experience of fighting cancer. Lynda was diagnosed with breast cancer in August.

Within days of the diagnosis, Lynda and Steve came up with their latest specialty, Bald Lady Coffee.

In an effort to help woman cope and deal with the financial strains of fighting the disease, the couple will donate the proceeds from the sale of Bald Lady Coffee to various organizations supporting this cause.

"Not only does this disease exact an emotional and physical toll from surgery and rehabilitation," Lynda Larsen said, "it can also present an enormous financial burden for survivors who are unable to work and/or have inadequate insurance. I have been fortunate to be blessed with a large support network of my husband, family, and friends, but not everybody can say the same."
